If I have to choose some group winners outside the clear favourites, it would be;

Group A  Russia @ 3.00

Group D  Croatia @ 3.30

and quite more riskier but maybe worth  shot;

Group F  Sweden @ 8.00

Group H   Japan @  9.00

Honestly I don't have any idea who's going to be, but the odds are definitely tempting.

It all depends which teams would have a long and successful tournament but as far as I remember the top scorers not necessarily is not a player of some of the top favourites of the tournament.

If I've had to choose a few names it would be those;

Cristiano Ronaldo 15.00
Harry Kane 15.00
Romelu Lukaku 17.00
Robert Lewandowski 29.00
Sergio Aguero 29.00
Thomas Muller 29.00

Just gonna go slightly off topic here. A Serbian dictator, Vucic,  O:-) promised 10 million as a reward for our National team if they win the Championships. :D That's one of the (empty) promises he doesn't have to worry about.

idk, just found it very sad... if you have 10 million to spare, use it wisely.

Yeah, politicians are the same all over the world I think. At least our dudes in Romania are pretty much sickening as well.

Yeah I can't stand them with almost no exceptions.

Now, I will cheer for Serbia just to see the guys face if they accidentally win it ;)

The money wont go out of his pocket anyway but would be curious  if he'll keep the promise.

One thing is for sure he just make points from the national team WC participation, I'm surprised he didn't offer a billion!

Any excitement in Serbia before  the tournament Markotik? If I'm not mistaken it's been a while from the Serbia's last big event participation.

I think that excitement is great and unrealistic as always. That hope people have is simply too strong. :)

I don't live in Belgrade anymore, but I heard that all matches will be broadcasted on a big screen at one of central Belgrade's squares.

A lot easier than expected for Russia, the Saudi defenders have been pretty much hilarious. Oh, and the goalie was fabulous as well :)

Russia 5 - 0   Saudi Arabia

Yeah really, a bit too easy for the Russians, they were very effective in front of goal scoring almost all their chances but SA didn't look like a team which shouldn't be on the finals at all.

I can't understand FIFA's politics of quotas distribution by a continent when so strong European and even some South American and African teams staying out of the finals while some Asian teams (with all my respect) are just not good enough for the event.
Hopefully at 2026 finals with an increase of the number of the teams balance would be better.

That's politics mate, every continental confederation has been pushing for more spots at the World Cup in exchange for voting one way or the other.
