Euro 2012 Predictions

Euro 2012 started yesterday and I wasn't able to watch the opening game, that happened for the first time since 1988 I think. But I'll probably make up for that today, tomorrow and next week :)

As you know the first two matches had the following results:

Poland 1 Greece 1

Russia 4 Czech Republic 1

And there are two exciting matches coming up today:

Holland vs Denmark

Germany vs Portugal

I predict a draw between Germany and Portugal and a win for Holland against Denmark. But I'm very curious to see your predictions, so please share them below ;)

Hmm... I think that Holland will win, and I actually hope that Germany will beat Portugal. :)  Let's see what's gonna happen.

Hmm .. have to see if any of my channels have the games in my programming lineup.. should be good matches for sure..

I am thinking Germany over Portugal not that i am not fond of Portugal here either..

... and i am going with Holland as well .. the country has been producing much talent considering their in nation leagues.

I'm thinking Germany will beat Portugal and Holland will beat Denmark.

I will always root for Holland against any other side (except England of course).

So, Denmark beat Holland and none of us got that right. As for Germany beating Portugal, most of us saw that coming.

Playing today:

Spain vs Italy

Ireland vs Croatia

I think Spain will win the first one and Ireland will clinch a draw against Croatia, even though the result doesn't really do much good to any of the two teams.

I think Spain will win....and Republic of Ireland hopefully will win (being as I have a bit of Irish blood in me).

The Italians did much better than expected, considering the whole scandal going on in Italian football at the moment.

Yep, they played really well but I was expecting a bit more from Ireland to be honest.

i thought the Spain and Italy match was played with alot of spirit in each side .. was good ball.. seen the shot of Torres coming in .. Torres ! Torres !! Torres !!!

I see two draws here.

I hope this  one to be right, i thought maybe a draw for france-england, but i think england is gonna be the better team.

I give Sweden one over .. just a tough call on France England.

As for Ukraine/ Sweden, I would like to see a Swedish win (purely because of the gorgeous Swedish hunk I was dating in my teens)..

I didn't see the first half as I wasn't home and I hadn't looked when I posted my "guess".  I'm quite happy with a draw tbh.

Unfortunately, I missed these matches. Too bad about Ukraine-Sweden match, I was hoping that Sweden would win. ;)

Ukraine played well. It was a good match overall in fact, probably better than France vs England in terms of attacking football.

I don't think so - he was just very good at being handsome and gorgeous. 

Ukraine played well. It was a good match overall in fact, probably better than France vs England in terms of attacking football.

They played really well and I think they are a team to watch!

Coming up today:

Greece vs  Czech Republic

Poland vs Russia

I think that the Czech Republic will defeat Greece, especially since the Greeks will be without their first-choice central defence pair.

Poland vs Russia will probably end in a draw, even though Russia were quite impressive in their first match.

Poland vs Russia 1-2

Russia was indeed quite impressive, i think with a little bit of luck they could win this one.

I will have to go in another direction with my predictions today .. i say Greece by one.. eager is all i can say about Greece right now

And well although i am fond of much anything Russian .. i have to go with my heritage of Pol to Prussian mother's family and go with the Pols..

Portugal have the quality to beat Denmark and I think they will. As for Holland, they will beat Germany. But that's not a logical prediction, it's a display of wishful thinking ;)

I'm too late to predict Denmark - Portugal march but I expect Germany to beat Holland.

Italy vs Croatia - I'd say that Italy will win.

Spain vs Ireland - Spain, no doubt about that.

Btw, I hope we won't have any more shoe-eating incidents after tonight :P
