  • Today's stage two, from Marbella to Caminito del Rey, is listed as flat but it does have a few hills and it ends with a third-category climb. That finish is good for sprinters that can do well on little hills, such as Sagan and Viviani, or for punchers like Valverde.

    Any other participant - 3.25

    Peter Sagan (SVK) - 4.25

As for  the General Classification, Rudy Molard lost the red jersey as he was distanced by a few minutes on the final climb, Simon Yates took it thanks to a tiny one-second advantage over Alejandro Valverde. The top ten riders in the GC are inside less than a minute, this should make the final two weeks quite exciting.

  • The sprinters did not have their show at the end of stage 18 after all, Jelle Wallays and his breakaway companion did just about enough to reach the finish line before the bunch. No changes in the general classification.

  • Today's stage 19 is almost entirely flat until the finish but it ends with a very long first-category climb that could make some victims among the GC contenders. Here are the odds for the stage win at Sportingbet:

    Any other participant 2.60

  • Great win for Pinot today, but the big winner of this day is Simon Yates, who further consolidated his lead at the top of the general classification.

  • Today is the last chance for the general classification contenders to make a difference and the terrain surely is suitable for that: six climbs packed in just 97 kilometers, three of them first-category, and the ascent to the finish special-category.

  • Quite young riders on the podium, obviously that's the cyclists we should look after in future.

Glad for Yates after what he did in the Giro but failed in the end, obviously Mitchelton-Scott learned their lesson and the approach from them was a bit more conservative in the first couple of weeks and generally wiser I think.
