Cheeky football kick - is it dignified for a true sportsman

I had to laugh when I watched the video of a footballer doing the back-heel penalty.

But at the same time I felt so bad for the goalkeeper, and now that I think of it, this cheeky move may have been entertaining, but it was also sooo humiliating for the opposing team - which I find unfair to do to your opponent in any kind of sports.

Anyway, very disrespectful move, I would say. Maybe it's the only way he can score. ;)

The referee should have shown him a yellow card right away for disrespectful behaviour. The goal stands though.

I may not always agree with ya Zuga  ;) but i have to agree with you on this one.

Any kind of sport is competitive, it's what drives the player and inspires them to excel. They all have moments where they want to pull a stunt like this. This guy just did what every sportsman didn't have the kahunas to do!

It does take courage and that can be admired, but there are rules and the referee should have booked him.

I'm definitely with you on this one, Johnny - even though I laughed the first time I saw the video, I still felt for their opponents... :(

Lips, this is a great find! Something you only see on Serbian TV in some sports history programs. I gotta steal this one and share it, if you don't mind! :)

Here's something else you dont see every day :

I don't think that player should be punished over his unusal penalty kick or if he disrespected the goal keeper if that was how he shoots the penalty kick every time he steps into that position.  If he did that one time only, then he did not show true sportmanship and it showed that the goal keeper  was suck.

Haha, that's a very creative penalty kick routine Zuga! I think it's a great idea.

If more teams would use it then the element of surprise will be gone. The defending teams can counter that move by marking the players outside the penalty area a bit more carefully.
