A True Captain
« on: April 30, 2012, 06:45:16 AM »
Barcelona defeated Rayo 7-0 in their last Spanish soccer league match, nothing unusual so far. What caught my attention was a gesture that happened right after Barcelona scored their fifth goal.

Daniel Alves crossed for Thiago who headed home, and then the two Brazilian lads started a little dance to celebrate the goal.

It was a rather humiliating scene for the Rayo fans but somebody stepped in: Barcelona's captain Carles Puyol arrived to the scene and stopped the dance with a rather furious gesture.

What do you think about what happened there?

It's great to see such a good sportsmanship, I really like what he did. But I wouldn't say that it was a furious gesture. He just did what any captain should do.

I agree but he was obviously pissed off by what those two were doing there.

Yes, it  was a rather childish move from Thiago and Alves.

He did the right thing which was a good thing.  Those two were rubbing salt into the wound.
