Luxor to Open First Las Vegas eSports Venue
It has recently been announced that the Egyptian-themed Las Vegas hotel and casino, Luxor, is scheduled to open an esports venue, the FIRST of its kind in Las Vegas, early next year. The facility, now being referred to as the new Esports Arena Las Vegas, with naming rights currently under consideration, will open in collaboration with Allied Esports, and Esports Arena. The facility will merge the two concepts of live action entertainment with the Strip’s famous nightlife scene, making for one incredible sports gaming experience. CEO of Allied Esports International, Jud Hannigan, commented, "We have very ambitious expansion plans over the next two years, and when we realized that a location at Luxor was possible, we jumped at the opportunity to develop our flagship here." Hannigan continued, "Just as Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden and Wembley Stadium are considered their sports’ most aspirational venues by players and fans alike, Esports Arena Las Vegas will be the iconic destination in esports and complement the city’s incredible appeal, attracting video gaming competitors and fans from around the world." The soon-to-come sports arena will take the place of what is currently a nightclub, made up of 30,000 square feet. Space will be transformed to include multi levels, in addition to a stage, LED video wall, daily gaming stations, telescopic seating, innovative streaming and television capabilities, and a vast menu of food and beverages! The idea is that sports fans will flock to this space as a championship destination for tournaments, and it will also deliver leagues and high stakes match-ups. Luxor’s general manager, Niklas Rytterstrom added, "Our company is the leader in the entertainment industry and recognizes the exciting growth in esports. With this partnership, we will introduce a new experience to the market, once again elevating the city’s vast entertainment offerings." "Esports Arena Las Vegas will be the ultimate esports environment that people from around the world will strive to experience first-hand. The operation and programming will be unique, as the rest of our locations are very much driven to engage and support local communities, while here in Las Vegas we are developing an approach that will also create excitement for the millions of visitors who come to the city every year," stated Tyler Endres, COO and co-founder of Esports Arena.
