So they probably think in Holland, Bulgaria is the worst team in Europe if they sacked their coach after that qualification loss and the local media torn apart...
So they probably think in Holland, Bulgaria is the worst team in Europe if they sacked their coach after that qualification loss and the local media torn apart the players and the team in general through the days before that friendly game. And Bulgaria maybe is not far away from being one of the worst team in Europe in the past years but there is slightly improvement in he team, plus the fact all in Holland don't take in mind - they are nothing special lately either. They didn't took on of the first three places in the previous Euro qualifications!!1 Lost from Turkey, Czech Republic -twice and iceland - twice!!! so why this wasn't such a failure then but it is now?! don't think these teams are a lot better than Bulgaria! I know also it could be painful to miss second big event in a row for a team like Holland which seems very likely now but that's the facts and this is what happens when you not get those measures at the time. I think Holland team being weak for years now. They lack in quality of the players but also I don't think they always appointed the best coaches they could in maybe biggest part of the last 20 years with a little exceptions of course. During the time they've had appointed some of the big names for a national team coaches only if that particular guy was free for quite some time before that. Anyway the reason for failure of Holland are complex but you can't expect great achievements if your not fully committed and not taking the right decisions which I don't think the local federation did over the years even when they've had so many great players and coches and what now when they missing. Something quite similar to the England's FA and their doubtful manager appointments over the years which never allowed us to see the full potential of whole great generations of players over the years. But don't get me wrong I've had always been something of a fan of the Netherlands team and that's why it's even more disappointing, coud say the same for England side.
