Premier League: Everton reject loan offer for Gerard Deulofeu
Premier League side Everton have turned down a bid from Serie A outfit AC Milan to loan Spanish winger Gerard Deulofeu until the end of the season. The winger, aged 22, has found few opportunities to play for the first team under new manager Ronald Koeman. He has made just 13 appearances this season and has not scored any goals. Last season he made 33 appearances in all competitions and scored 4 goals for the Toffees under former boss Roberto Martinez. Everton want a fee for the loan deal and AC Milan's offer was below what the English club had expected. Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam are also interested in taking the Spaniard on loan until the end of the season, while Premier League outfit Middlesbrough are also hoping to get him on loan. The winger moved to Everton on loan from Barcelona in 2013 and then joined the Toffees on a permanent contract in 2015 for a transfer fee worth just over 4 million pounds. He has represented Spain at every possible level, from Under-16 to the senior national team. Ronald Koeman is looking to bring in Manchester United's Memphis Depay as a replacement, but the Dutch winger is also wanted by French Ligue 1 side Lyon. The French club have already made three offers for Depay, all rejected by Manchester United, but talks are ongoing and the two clubs might reach an agreement soon. Manchester United have paid 31 million pounds to PSV Eindhoven for Memphis Depay, but the young winger has not convinced new boss Jose Mourinho. He has made just eight appearances for the Red Devils this season and as featured for only eight minutes since the end of October. Gerard Deulofeu is 1/3 at SkyBet to join AC Milan before the January transfer window closes.
