Premier League: Slaven Bilic refuses to sell Dimitri Payet
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has clarified the situation of star player Dimitri Payet: the midfielder no longer wants to play for the Hammers, but the club refuse to be forced into selling him. The 29-year-old French international has been linked with moves to various big clubs, but West Ham always said that they want to keep their best players in order to achieve success. "We have said we don't want to sell our best players but Payet does not want to play for us," Slaven Bilic said. "We are not going to sell him." West Ham bought Payet for around 11 million pounds from Marseille in June 2015 and now the French club want to bring him back to Ligue 1. He was an instant hit at West Ham, scoring 12 goals during his first season at the club and earning a nomination for PFA Players' Player of the Year. He is under contract with West Ham until 2021, but the team's poor results this season have disappointed the French star. Slaven Bilic says that he will not sell Payet, regardless of the offers that the club might receive. "He's probably been tapped up by some clubs or whatever," added Bilic. "That is usual at this time of year. But until he changes his attitude he is out of the team and he's not going to train with us." You can bet on which will be Payet's club at the end of the January transfer window at SkyBet, here are some of the odds: West Ham - 11/10 Marseille - 6/4 Any Chinese Club - 8/1 Man Utd - 8/1 Chelsea - 12/1
