Premier League: Morgan Schneiderlin set to join Everton
Everton have reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, the deal is worth 22 million pounds. The midfielder had joined Manchester United in 2015 from Southampton under former manager Louis van Gaal, but since Jose Mourinho took over at Old Trafford he was given very few opportunities to feature in the first team. United paid 24 million pounds to Southampton for Schneiderlin and he made 29 Premier League appearances under Louis van Gaal. This season he was only given three substitute appearances by Jose Mourinho. Following Tuesday's 2-0 victory over Hull City in the League Cup, Jose Mourinho confirmed the transfer: "Ed Woodward informed me that the situation is close. Morgan is more than probably going to Everton." "I am sad and happy, sad because I like him and he could be an option for us, happy because this is what he wants, to play every game and be important in the team," the Portuguese boss added. Morgan Schneiderlin, aged 27, has already worked with Everton manager Ronald Koeman at Southampton. The Toffees are currently seventh in the Premier League table and they are 12/1 to finish inside the top six.
