Serie A: Inter appoint Stefano Pioli as new head coach
Inter Milan have finally decided who will be their new head coach after having sacked previous boss Frank de Boer. The new head coach is former Lazio boss Stefano Pioli, an experienced 51-year-old coach. The new boss signed a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2018. Frank de Boer was sacked at the start of November after just 85 days in charge of the club. Pioli will have a chance to know his squad before the first league match, taking advantage of the international break. However, his first game in charge will be the city derby against arch-rivals AC Milan on 20 November. Inter had nine managers, Pioli included, since Jose Mourinho parted company with the club in 2010. Mourinho left the club despite having won the Champions League that season. Stefano Pioli was in charge at Lazio since 2014 but got sacked in April. He has been in charge at 11 different clubs as head coach but he never managed to win any titles. His best placement in the Serie A was third with Lazio, but a 4-1 defeat in the derby against Roma left him out of a job earlier this year. Inter are currently ninth in the Serie A, a whole 13 points behind leaders Juventus. They are also playing in the Europa League, but they are bottom of their group table after losing at Southampton last week. Inter are 7/1 at Bet365 to finish inside the Serie A top three this season.
