Premier League: Arsenal sign Spanish striker Lucas Perez
Arsenal have completed the signing Deportivo La Coruna forward Lucas Perez for around 17 million pounds. The 27-year-old striker bagged 17 goals in 37 appearances last season for Deportivo after joining them from Greek outfit PAOK. Everton have also been interested in his signature but Arsenal met the buy-out clause in his contract. The Gunners are also close to completing the transfer of Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi, the transfer fee is believed to be in excess of 35 million pounds. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said last weekend that both transfers will go through, but the club did not confirmed any of the moves at the time. "He's not only a goalscorer, he's a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs," Wenger said about Perez. "He's got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year." Perez was not yet capped for Spain and had a bit of a journeyman career after spells in Ukraine with Karpaty Lviv and Dynamo Kyiv and in Greece with PAOK. There is also outgoing transfer news regarding Arsenal, as Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are trying to sign young midfielder Serge Gnabry. The 21-year-old is a German youth international, he scored six goals for his nation at the recent Olympic Games football tournament. Jack Wilshere also seems to be heading out, albeit on loan. The talented midfielder only managed to make three appearances for the Gunners last season, which was another campaign plagued by injuries for him. Despite playing for the Arsenal senior team since 2008, Wilshere only made 105 Premier League appearances for the club. Arsenal are 10/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.
