Back Premier League: Henrikh Mkhitaryan insists on Manchester United move

Jose Mourinho's Manchester United remain in the race for the signature of Borussia Dortmund's Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the German club don't want to sell their star. However, since Mkhitaryan's contract will run out at the end of next season, Dortmund will most likely be persuaded to sell instead of losing him on a free transfer next summer. Manchester United have signed just one new player this summer: Villarreal defender Eric Bailly.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan's agent Mino Raiola says he is confident that the Armenia international will join Manchester United this summer. Mkhitaryan has already revealed that he will not be signing a new contract with Dortmund, but the German club insisted they will not sell him this summer. Borussia Dortmund have already lost two big names this summer as Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundongan left the club, and the club officials are insisting that no more stars will be allowed to leave.

Raiola says discussions with Manchester United are ongoing: β€œIt would be a sin to stop talking,” the agent said. β€œI am a positive guy. If I wasn't confident of reaching some kind of conclusion, I wouldn't try. I am very proud Manchester United want him and the talks are being held in a good atmosphere, but at the moment Dortmund are still saying no.” Manchester United are also reportedly chasing 34-year-old striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but agent Raiola says the Swedish star has not yet decided as he has received numerous offers from all over the world.

Manchester United are 4/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.
