Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund sign Raphael Guerreiro
Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of Portugal international Raphael Guerreiro from Lorient. The 22-year-old defender was linked with Liverpool and Barcelona but has chosen to sign for the German side. The transfer fee is around 12 million euro while Guerreiro signed a four-year contract with Borussia Dortmund. The Dortmund club have been quite active so far on the transfer market as they have already completed the signings of Marc Bartra, Ousmane Dembele, Mikel Merino, Emre Mor and Sebstian Rode. "Raphael Guerreiro is a technically skilled player who feels at home in several positions," Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said. "We are very happy that he chose Borussia Dortmund." The talented young defender played 102 league games for Lorient during a three-year spell at the club and scored 10 goals in the process. He has also earned 8 caps for Portugal since making his debut in the senior national team in 2014. He is also part of the Portugal squad at Euro 2016. Dortmund have also sold a couple of players this summer, with Mats Hummels joining Bayern Munich and Ilkay Gundogan moving to Manchester City. Henrikh Mkhitaryan wants to leave the club as well but Dortmund ruled out a transfer earlier this week. Borussia Dortmund are 8/1 at 888sport to win the Bundesliga title next season.
