Liverpool have made a bid for left-back Raphael Guerreiro, according to French club Lorient. Guerreiro was born in France but represents Portugal at an international level, he was included in the squad for Euro 2016. Lorient vice-president Alex Hayes revealed that Liverpool and three other clubs are interested in the 22-year-old defender, but so far none of the contenders offered an acceptable transfer fee.
"No one wants to see Raphael leave, especially the president," Hayes said. "He will only be transferred if a club makes an offer that we can't refuse. For the moment four major foreign clubs, including Dortmund and Liverpool, have made an offer. The fourth one shouldn't take too long to be made officially but for the moment none of them satisfy us. We're calm. We don't need to sell to balance the books."
Guerreiro has five caps for Portugal at the moment. He joined Ligue 1 side Lorient from Caen in 2013 and was an important part in the Portugal Under-21s squad which finished second at last year's European Under 21 Championships. Liverpool are also likely to sell central defender Martin Skrtel. His agent, Karol Csonto, admitted the 31-year-old centre back is likely to make a move to the Turkish league at Besiktas.
Liverpool are 9/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.

To be honest I've had never seen him in play or at least didn't know if I've do, but definitely sounds like a great deal for Liverpool. If the guy caught the eye of Liverpool scouts I guess he has a good qualities and it's in perfect age - just 22, so that could be a great deal for the future.

Well,I have pretty confidence in Jurgen Klopp.I must admit that I am not too familiar with the qualities of this left back, but Liverpool will definitely need some fresh blood on this position.Big advantage for Guerreiro is the fact that he is still young and he could develop in top class defender in next few seasons.

Jurgen Klopp has big budget in Liverpool, but he is going with his old recipe, he is not buying "completed" players, he is looking for potentials and building team without some big stars, he wants stability in his team and I think that Guerreiro would be great signing for Klopp's team.
