Back Premier League: Lazio's Felipe Anderson confirms Manchester United bid

Lazio midfielder Felipe Anderson, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, has confirmed that the Old Trafford club had submitted an official bid for him. Lazio refused to let him go though. The Brazilian said: “An offer came in last year from Manchester United. Lazio have confirmed this and preferred to keep me to have a great season.”

The talented midfielder has done a good job at Lazio during the last couple of seasons and has attracted interest from many European outfits. He could still be a target for the Red Devils, but if Van Gaal will be replaced by Jose Mourinho then the transfer priorities might change significantly. Felipe Anderson is just 22 years old and has scored 16 league goals in 73 appearances for Lazio after joining from Santos in 2013.

Manchester United are also believed to be preparing a move for Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The striker is ready to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the current season but he will have plenty of offers to choose from as Arsenal and Chelsea are also reportedly interested in signing the 34-year-old. Manchester United are believed to be offering a 2-year contract worth no less than 24 million pounds, according to Daily Star.

Manchester United are currently 6th in the Premier League table, and they are 15/8 at Bet365 to finish inside the top four this season.
