Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has not been exactly pleased by speculation linking Jose Mourinho to his job at Old Trafford. The BBC reported that the former Chelsea boss could be preparing to take the Manchester United job at the end of the current season.
Louis van Gaal replied by accusing the media of "inventing" the story. He also stated that there was no need for the club to issue an official statement to deny the rumours. However, we do know for a fact that Van Gaal's contract won't expire until the end of the 2016-2017 season.
United clinched a 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday, and Van Gaal was questioned about his future after the match. He responded angrily, saying that the media should praise his team instead. "For the third game in succession, our football was sparkling. So I hope to get the support of the media this week. But you write what you like," Van Gaal said.
United are currently fifth in the Premier League table, six points away from the top four. They are 7/4 at Bet365 to clinch a top-four finish this season.

@milo?.sekuli? They have to give a chance to Ryan GIggs! I don't know who they'll bring but I do know that Van Gaal is not the right man for the job. Yes there is a transition period, but whit all these funds spend and all this class players they at least have to play some decent football which not happens for second consecutive season. And Van Gaal said some time ago that he's most likely will retire after his contract with United ends so why the hell they in first place appointed a manager with just 2 or 3 seasons ahead of him? For me it's a mystery.

Yes, but who will they bring instead? I do not think Mourinho is the right choice. He will do a total reconstruction of the team, and that's the time they will have serious problems .It takes some time for all new players to adapt. If they bring Mourinho , I think the title can be expected in 2 or 3 years, but with him...

It's ridiculous that United is not in the PL title race this season when all the top teams struggling. It's not about top 4 this season, even if we agree that it was a good enough placement last season, it's not about top 3 also, it's about the title. It's not about top 4 this season, even if we agree that it was a good enough placement last season, it's not about top 3 also, it's about the title. With the money he spend at the transfer market, the performance is far away from what it should be. They just have to fire him, as simple as that, before he ruins yet another season, he's just not good enough for United and I don't think he had ever been.

Although it has a contract until 2017, they need to find a replacement for him. There is no reason for him, to be angry with journalists, they are fifth on the table and obviously he is not doing his job well. After Chelsea, I would not like to see him at Manchester United , although he is a good substitute for Van Gaal.
