Back Premier League: Arsenal vs Southampton preview

Southampton will be looking to redeem themselves after last weekend's setback when they travel to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday. The Saints lost 3-0 to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon and another defeat could see them slip further down the table. Last time Arsenal faced Southampton the Saints pulled off a 2-1 win, that was back in September in the League Cup.

Arsenal grabbed a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend thanks to a goal from Danny Welbeck, a good result coming after the comfortable win against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger has another injury crisis on his hands though as both Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs could be out of contention. Mathieu Flamini could be a makeshift left back while the two are sidelined. Southampton could be without Morgan Schneiderlin.

Probable line-ups:

Arsenal: Martinez - Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal - Flamini, Ramsey - Welbeck, Sanchez, Cazorla - Giroud

Southampton: Forster - Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand - Wanyama, Alderweireld, Tadic - Long, Mane, Pelle

My prediction: Arsenal to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Arsenal win - 4/5 Draw - 11/4 Southampton win - 4/1
