Back Czech Democrats Agree to Lower Betting Tax Increase

According to Reuters reports, social democratic parties in the Czech Republic, ANO and Christian Democrats, have agreed to proposed changes to reduce betting industry tax from 25 percent to 23 percent.

The rate is actually an increase from the current 20 percent and will be beneficial to companies such as Fortuna Entertainment Group.

"We agreed in the coalition council that this amendment should be filed," Roman Sklenak, Social Democrat caucus chief said.

The Hospodarske Noviny business publication revealed that Fortuna Entertainment could stand to save approximately 30 million Czech crowns ($1.26 million) with the new tax rate in 2016.
