Everton have completed the signing of defender Ramiro Funes Mori from Argentine club River Plate. The deal is worth 9.5 million pounds and the player has signed a five-year contract with the Toffees. The 24-year-old defender had agreed the move last week but he had to wait for a work permit to be granted.
Everton have rejected three offers from Chelsea for defender John Stones, the last bid was 30 million pounds. Mori is a central defender, he joined River Plate in 2008 and made 108 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals.
He also has one international cap for Argentina, he made his debut last March in a 2-0 friendly win against El Salvador. "Everton did everything to bring me over and I wanted to come. They have a lot of good players, so I'm very happy to be here," Mori said. "When I heard about Everton's interest, I didn't think twice and I'm going to give it 100% every time I go out there to play."
Everton are 4.33 at Bet365 to finish inside the Pemier League top six this season.

I think that this is investment in future and I think that is smart move by Everton. He will probably go on few loans in small clubs before he get chance to play in Everton first team and he must to catch every opportunity because in Premier league you will get only one opportunity, good luck man, I think that you will...

I saw a lot of big talents when come to big club they are lost. They don't fit in in big professional life and they don't fulfill expectations. So I think that nobody can talk that this is good or bad move for Everton and we just need to wait and see this player how he can play in Europe, in one of the best European leagues.

This is good sign for Everton. They bring a great defender for not so big money. He played for River Plate and he was one of the best their players in last couple seasons. I hope he will be even better in new team. Also, after this sign, Everton completed their squad and it's time for them to win few games in row.

Last day of transfer window was really interesting, like always.Ramiro Funes Mori had played in a big club before (River Plate) so he wont have problems with handling the pressure of competing in Premier League.I suppose that Everton will be satisfied with him,he was fantastic at la Monumental.

By the transfer standards in the Premier League from the last two seasons this is the cheapest deal as it could be:D I've had watched two games of River in the last year but to be honest I never pay attention to Mori and don't have enough impressions about his game. He's a young defender which is good for Everton and who knows, could be a transfer hit for them.
