Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is currently negotiating a new contract with Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger says that the player is getting "closer and closer" to signing the new deal. Walcott, aged 26, has just one year remaining on his current deal with the club.
Arsene Wenger was asked at a news conferece about whether Walcott had signed a new contract, and he said: "Not yet. Hopefully we can finalise it very soon." The Gunners have made a move on the transfer market after signing goalkeeper Petr Cech, former number one Wojciech Szczesny is now set to join Italian side AS Roma.
Walcott joined from Southampton in 2006 at the age of just 16. His current contract, signed in January 2013, gives him 100,000 pounds a week and it runs out next summer. He has made 302 appearances for the club, scoring 76 goals, but last season he made just 14 league appearances after having suffered a knee injury.
Arsenal are 5.50 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.

There is no player in last few years that was so talented but had so many problems with injuries. His talent is huge,he is super fast,he has fantastic technical skills ,but he too often gets injured. If he can stay healthy for a season or two,he would become biggest force for the Gunners.

No doubt that Teo Walcott will sign the new deal with Arsenal moreover there are not other really interested clubs in him at this moment. I guess the new deal will be a long term and probably could leave him in Arsenal till the end of his career or at least till the closing stages of it. Not a bad player but suffers from...

I think it is a close deal, he will respectfully stay in Arsenal for another year, but I have a feeling that he will end up in Spain after this. Great player, powerful striker, but he did not show all that he can yet, hope this will be his year. Still, I don't see Arsenal winning Premier League next season, but we will...

I totally agree with h34dhunt3r, Walcott is one of the most talented football players that England have. Arsenal will make a mistake if they didn't "re-sign" him. He is so fast, one of the fastest players, and also have a good technique and he is great striker.

One of most talented english players in last few decades. Injures made him do less than expected in his carreer. I was always fan of Theo Walcott. Just a fact that he is only 26 and he is been around for a while says it all. There is a story, maybe just a rumor, that Arsen Wenger went to Southampton to buy a player. He...

He had to choise between Walcott and Bale, and it seems like it he chosen wrong one. Who knows what would happend if he picked Bale, maybe Arsenal would have won Premier League.
