DraftKings in Advertising Deal with ESPN
Daily fantasy sports operator DraftKings has entered into a 2-year $250 million advertising deal with Walt Disney American sports network subsidiary ESPN. The deal will see DraftKings become the exclusive DFS partner to ESPN owned media channels and digital inventory giving it an advantage over its competitor, FanDuel. Previously in the year, Disney opted out of a $250 million investment in DraftKings that would have given it a 27 percent share in the daily fantasy sports company. DraftKings has managed to collect nearly $80 million from investors and is in another funding round. Its competitor FanDuel has raised $275 million from investors including Time Warner and Google.
