Back Premier League: Ramos will only leave for Man United, says Ramon Calderon

Sergio Ramos would only leave Real Madrid to join Manchester United, according former Blancos president Ramon Calderon. Man United have made an offer for Ramos, believing that the defender wants to leave his current club. Calderon backs that belief, saying that the 29-year-old international is looking to move.

"I know Sergio has told the general manager to listen to offers they get from Manchester United," said Calderon, who was the president of the club from 2006 to 2009. "He only wants to go to United." The player could use the situation to negotiate a better deal for himself at Real Madrid, but Calderon says Ramos is genuinely discontent at the Spanish club.

"Things are in a very bad situation," Calderon said. "As time has gone on, things have not only not improved, they have got worse. Now it is not a question of money. It is a lack of affection the player is feeling from Real Madrid." Manchester United are also rumoured to be chasing 30-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and Tottenham's England striker Harry Kane, aged 21. The Red Devils have already spent 31 million pounds to sign forward Memphis Depay, aged 21, from PSV Eindhoven.

Manchester United are 5/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League next season.
