Without a third reading or vote on bill C-290, it seems that the issue of sports betting in Canada has been shelved as the Canadian Senate adjourned for the summer.
The bill was designed to amend the criminal code to allow single-game sports betting but has remained in limbo since making to the Canadian Senate after unanimous approval and passage from the House of Commons in 2012.

This is interesting news from Canada. I believe that they only want to fight against corruption in betting and in sport but this kind of news can distract average betting player which has no idea why soething is going on. I believe that Canada government should be more transparent in making their own decisions

I'm wondering why there is have to be different rules and laws for single-game sports and team sports? Hope that this issues will be solved soon and the Canadian citizens will have the rights to bet on whichever sport they choose. Also hope that the Canadian Senate wont be shelve again that matter which have to resolved...

I don't see why is so hard to let people bet on sports. I said this a lot of time and I will said again. I think that in every country sports betting should be legal and I don't see reason why not, and if someone want to bet let him bet and if don't it is great but let people have a choice. I read a lot of news about this...
