Back East African Operators Launch Virtual Games TV Channel

Two East African operators have gone live with the virtual games TV channel from Kiron Interactive and Vermantia.

Uganda's Kings Bet and BETnSport are the first in the country to launch the premium service, which also went live with Nigerian operator Nairabet in April.

There is commentary on all sports including horses, dogs, football, trotting, motor-racing and cycling. A series of number games will be released later in the year.

The offering will be available across 130 shops during the first phase with an estimated 500 by the end of this year. Aside from its online product, Kings Bet, the largest bookmaker in Uganda, also has 8 separate retail betting brands across the country,

Steven Spartinos, co-CEO of Kiron Interactive, said: “The channel is a cost-effective and scalable solution that can be beamed to any corner of Africa, where virtual games have proven to be very popular.

“It has launched very successfully in Nigeria and I'm sure the same will be the case in Uganda."
