Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said he is sure he will remain at the club next season, despite speculation around his future. The Citizens ended the season without a trophy and finished second in the Premier League.
"I've never had any doubt in my mind all season," he said. "I know what the owners think, I speak with them all the time. They're not owners who think because you do not win the title you must go out." City won their last match of the season 2-0 against Southampton, stretching their winning streak to six games.
"I am not happy with the way we worked the whole year," Pellegrini said. "We lost too many stupid points. But I assure you we are going to grow as a club next season. The most important target for us is to recover the title next season, and I believe we are not far away from doing that." About the future of winger James Milner, whose contract expires this summer, Pellegrini said: "James will make a decision at the end of the season. He is a very important player and he gave us a lot of spirit for the whole season. He must decide his future and what is best for him."
Manchester City are 4.00 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.

He is not overrated manager definitely. This manager with Villareal and Malaga held a good job, and I think that he deserve a more time, and freedom to create a team. I agree with Alexa Alexa, he is under pressure in City, and that factor affecting him. If he staying in City, they can be much stronger next year.

I disagree with Riki Martin about Pellegrini. He aint no underrated .He had succeses in his carreer. He managed to play semifinal of Champions League with Villareal.I think it is still biggest achievement of him.I only think that he is more suitable for smaller clubs, that dont have a pressure of immediate success.

I think that finally people in Manchester City understand that they need to give time and space and wait for results. I think that Manuel Pellegrini is one of the best coach on the world and he is the best in the tactical moves and I am sure that he can do a lot better job next year. I expect that they will finally do something...

Manuel Pellegrini is overrated manager. He had best team and he won nothing this season. In Premier league, they were miles away from Chelsea. In Champions league they have no chances against Barcelona, and in FA cup they lost at home vs Newcastle. If second place is success for owners, then Pellegrini should stay. He sold...

In Champions league they have no chances against Barcelona, and in FA cup they lost at home vs Newcastle. If second place is success for owners, then Pellegrini should stay. He sold Nastasic, bought Mangala for 40 millions and first option at that position for him is still Demichelis!? I think they can not make any progress in Europe with him.

There was much speculations about Manuel Pellegrini's future in the last few months but I think most probably he is going to stay with the club. Or at least they will have to find a better manager for his place but for now I can't see anyone appropriate enough who is available at the moment. For me as a MU fan there is...

For me as a MU fan there is nothing more usual than season without a trophy for City. And they've claimed that will going to win 5 this season. Who is laughing now :D Keep up the good work Manuel ; )

I also agree with you guys that he is playing "hot and cold", but I actually don't think that he gave expected results to Manchester City's owner and fans. With those millions invested in making a great team they expected at least more competing team in Premier League. I think that they should find new manager and also...

With those millions invested in making a great team they expected at least more competing team in Premier League. I think that they should find new manager and also with some new players they will be again competing in Premier League and also in Champions League. The summer is long and we will see what will happen.

I agree with h34dhunt3r.I am also unsure about Pellegrini.I think he is good manager, actually. His biggest problem is the fact that he is not flexyble. He also insists on some players.I still can not believe that he has buy Demichelis and sold Nastasic.Pellegrini must change his phylosophy a little bit if he wants to make...

I don't know what to think about this guy. He seems not to be top class, but this season Chelsea was simply superb and he had no chance of winning title. Probably owners will give him one more chance to prove himself, and once again bunch of money will be spent. I don't like Manchester City's transfer policy tho. They keep...

Probably owners will give him one more chance to prove himself, and once again bunch of money will be spent. I don't like Manchester City's transfer policy tho. They keep on buying 'potentialy good players' from non-world-class teams. Mangala was failure for sure, hope they buy something worth mentioning after few years of throwing money.
