Back Premier League: Liverpool cancel Raheem Sterling contract talks

Liverpool have cancelled Friday's meeting with Raheem Sterling after the player's agent has made some comments to the media. Aidy Ward, the agent, said that the 20-year-old forward will not sign a new contract with the Reds under any circumstances. "I don't care about the PR of the club," Ward said in an interview for the Evening Standard.

Sterling was expected to tell the club officials he wants a transfer this summer and has already rejected a new and very lucrative £100,000-a-week contract. The club have cancelled the meeting as they say there would be no point in holding it since the agent has made it clear that the forward will not sign a new contract.

"He is definitely not signing. He's not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing," said Ward. "My job is to make sure I do the best with them [my clients]. If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised it does not matter." However, Sterling is still under contract with Liverpool until 2017. Ward added: "Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players - none of those things matter to me. It is not relevant."

Bet365 have now opened a special bet regarding Sterling's future, here are the odds for his new club at the end of the summer transfer window:

Manchester City - 2.75 Liverpool - 3.00 Chelsea - 4.00 Arsenal - 7.00 Bayern Munich - 17.00
