Liverpool have cancelled Friday's meeting with Raheem Sterling after the player's agent has made some comments to the media. Aidy Ward, the agent, said that the 20-year-old forward will not sign a new contract with the Reds under any circumstances. "I don't care about the PR of the club," Ward said in an interview for the Evening Standard.
Sterling was expected to tell the club officials he wants a transfer this summer and has already rejected a new and very lucrative £100,000-a-week contract. The club have cancelled the meeting as they say there would be no point in holding it since the agent has made it clear that the forward will not sign a new contract.
"He is definitely not signing. He's not signing for £700, £800, £900 thousand a week. He is not signing," said Ward. "My job is to make sure I do the best with them [my clients]. If people say I am bad at my job, or they are badly advised it does not matter." However, Sterling is still under contract with Liverpool until 2017. Ward added: "Any of the criticism from current pundits or ex-Liverpool players - none of those things matter to me. It is not relevant."
Bet365 have now opened a special bet regarding Sterling's future, here are the odds for his new club at the end of the summer transfer window:
Manchester City - 2.75 Liverpool - 3.00 Chelsea - 4.00 Arsenal - 7.00 Bayern Munich - 17.00

Raheem Sterling want trophies and he knows that in Liverpool he can't win anything. So I think that is the main reason why he won't stay here and I understand him. He will have a lot of options this summer and he must chose careful but I am sure that he will fit in every team because he is great player and he won't have...

Liverpool can't do much in this situation, obviously Raheem Sterling and his agent not going to even negotiate for anew contract with the club. The best thing for Liverpool will be to accept the best offer for him and let him out. These greedy agents are everywhere these days and they are doing "the best' not only for their...

This is one more disappointing transfer news for Liverpool fans. Raheem Sterling is great, and for me the best Liverpool player. He just want to be player with the highest salary in the club, not to be behind Lovren and Balotelli. Second essential thing is quality of the squad. Liverpool is miles away from fighting for...

It was clear that Raheem Sterling will leave Liverpool this summer, and now with this meeting canceled this thing is done deal. It will be interesting to see which team will sign him, but I'm pretty sure that it will be one of the richest clubs, because I think that Sterling's first thing that he will see when he will be...

Saw this news today on Serbian sport portal, and I must say that I'm not suprised. Yes, his manager sounds like a jackass, but he kinda has the point. Liverpool has no potential of becoming high calibre team in next few years, and Raheem seem to be aiming for higher then just fighting for Europe League spot. I wouldn't...

Liverpool has no potential of becoming high calibre team in next few years, and Raheem seem to be aiming for higher then just fighting for Europe League spot. I wouldn't like to see him in Chelsea, eventho I'm fan of the Blues. Maybe best spot for him would be Arsenal, but I highly doubt that they can win transfer rase versus both clubs from Manchester.

Very bad news for Liverpool. He is a player who must be in Liverpool next year. Maybe it's better this player to keep increasing salaries, than to buy another. For me, Rahim have a potential to be a top class player, and if this is correct, he will go to a big club.
