Reds wonderboy Raheem Sterling is expected to inform Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers of his desire to leave Anfield this summer, according to BBC Sport. The 20-year-old England international has turned down a huge new contract of £100,000 per week, saying that he is not a "money-grabber". He did say that he wants to win trophies more than money. Sterling is due to meet Reds chief executive Ian Ayre and manager Brendan Rodgers on Friday, when he will most likely tell them he wants to go. The club have refused to comment on the situation but it's clear that they want to keep Sterling at the club, at least until the end of his contract in 2017.
If Sterling goes on the transfer list Manchester City and Arsenal seem the most interested, but several other big European clubs might also file their offers. If a deal would go through it is believed to be in the region of 35 to 40 million pounds. Liverpool have not won a trophy since grabbing the League Cup in 2012 and have failed to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Boss Brendan Rodgers has previously said: "Liverpool are one of the superpowers of football and if the owners don't want to sell, they don't have to." Last week captain Steven Gerrard advised Sterling to stay at the club at play for Rodgers, a coach who "believes in him". "I think there is no-one better for him than Brendan Rodgers," said Gerrard, who will leave Anfield after 17 years. "The danger for younger players is they want it all too soon and go to another club and just become a number."
Liverpool are 13.00 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title next season.

I read in newspaper that Bayern Munchen would like to sign Rahim. I think that is correct because Rahim is a player like a Robben. They plays on same position, and because Robben has 30 years, Rahim could be a great option to replace him. But, for Rahim, my opinion is that he should stay at least one season in Liverpool....

Sterling is great prospect for the future.I really love the way he plays. He can make mistake if he leaves Liverpool. He is very young,he will have a lot of chances to win trophys. Now,it is most important to him to just play football regularly. If he goes to some club with great ambitions ,he would not have so much chances...

Well, he is not a money- grabber but probably he will "grab" In Man CIty more than these 100 000 that he rejected from Liverpool. Again agree with h34dhunt3r that he is nowhere near the top class players in the Premier League. This guy can't score, he got a speed and some kind of talent but nothing more. Another example...

This player is highly overrated if you ask me. Raheem Sterling showed nothing near top class perfomances this season. But I understand his request to leave, since him and Coutinho are only ones actually showing something in Liverpool. Lots of failed transfers were made last summers transfer window, money was wasted, and if Sterling leaves, along with Gerrards move to USA, Liverpool will probably be in mid-table next season. Sad for a big club like that, but their transfer policy has been nothing but dissaster last couple of seasons.

My opinion is that Raheem Sterling deserves to play in better club with better teammates. I don't want to offend Liverpool as a team, and their fans, but in this season they are not so good as they were in last couple of seasons. And now with Steve G's leaving i think that Liverpool will be even worse in the next season....

We will see what is going to happened in this situation. For me, Raheem Sterling should stay in Liverpool for few more years. He is only 20 years old and he is key player such a big club. Better for his development is to be key player of Liverpool instead first reserve in any other club. Time is working for him, and he...
