Back Premier League: Jose Mourinho set for contract extension talks

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is expected to hold contract talks with the Stamford Brigde club after he claimed his third Premier League trophy, according to Sky Sports sources. There is no verbal agreement between the two parties yet but it seems the club are determined to extend the manager's contract. At the moment Jose Mourinho still has two years left on his four-year deal. Chelsea have declined to comment on the issue.

Mourinho, aged 52, led the Blues to their first Premier League title in five years after securing a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend. The Portuguese boss returned in charge of Chelsea in 2013 after having won two Premier League titles during his first spell at Stamford Bridge. The first title, in 2005, came after a 50-year long drought for the Blues.

The manager has often spoken of his desire to stay at the club as long as owner Roman Abramovich wishes to keep him. After the Crystal Palace match Mourinho said: "As I was saying since the beginning of the season, I stay here until Mr Abramovich wants me to stay. The day he tells me to go, I go." Earlier this year, after winning the Capital One Cup, the Portuguese boss said that he wants to end his career at Chelsea: "I don't want to go away. I will stay here in this chair until Mr Abramovich tells me 'Jose, it's enough'. I am not thinking about leaving, I want to stay at Chelsea for the rest of my career."

Chelsea are 2.37 at Bet365 to successfully defend their Premier League title next season.
