Back Kentucky State Senate Votes Fantasy Sports is a Skill Game

The Kentucky state Senate voted 37 to 1 in support fantasy sports as a game of skill and the issue has is now in the state House.

If passed by the House and signed by Republican Gov. Sam Brownback, fantasy sports will become legal in the state.

Republican Rep. Brett Hildabrand introduced the bill and included language to ensure that Kentucky residents are not penalized for taking part in the games.

Legislators have been influenced by the state AG Derek Schmidt's opinion that fantasy sports is a game of skill and therefore, not subject to state gambling laws.
