Back Tennis: It's official, Novak Djokovic pulls out of Madrid Open

World number one Novak Djokovic has decided to pull out from next week's Madrid Open in order to get some rest before the Rome Masters and French Open. Djokovic has missed out on the Madrid Open in 2014 as well.

The tournament organisers issued a statement saying: "He'll take time out before continuing with his planned calendar." Novak Djokovic has already won all three Masters events this season and has also clinched the Australian Open title.

He has never won the French Open though, the tournament starts on 24 May. This time he is the favourite given Rafael Nadal's unconvincing form, the Spaniard has won nine of the last ten editions of the tournament. Novak Djokovic is currently 1.90 at Bet365 to win the French Open, Rafael Nadal is priced at 3.00 while Stan Wawrinka and Roger Federer are both at 21.00.
