Fantasy Sports operator FanDuel, has joined the Internet Association, a trade group representing technology companies including Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Twitter and others.
Fantasy sports betting is exempt from federal laws unlike regular sports wagers and online gambling but the industry is not willing to chance future changes and wants representation in the political environment.
According to a statement from FanDeul CEO Nigel Eccles this week:
“As FanDuel continues to grow and redefine how sports fans play fantasy sports on the Internet, it was critical that we joined the Internet Association to participate and engage on important policy issues affecting Internet companies.”
“FanDuel's perspective will be a great asset as we continue to work together to advocate for pro-Internet policies that foster economic growth and empower users,” said Internet Association President Michael Beckerman.

I think there is a bright future in front of these Fantasy Sport companies because of their popularity that constantly grows up in the last years. Obviously they want some political influence in future too which can guaranteed them a more successful business. I am not he biggest fantasy sport fan but many people are attracted by it.
