MLB Prohibits Players from Taking Part in Real Money DFS Activity
The US Major League Baseball authorities support daily fantasy sports; however they took a stance announcing that its players are restricted from taking part real money DFS activities. Despite the restriction, players may secure endorsement or promotional deals in the industry. Playing for prizes could trigger the anti-gambling Rule 21 according to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, even though DFS involves skill rather than chance excluding it from the category of “gambling”.
