Back Ligue 1: Zlatan Ibrahimovic gets four-match ban

Paris St-Germain star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been banned for four Ligue 1 matches for an outburst that was broadcast live on TV. The Swedish forward was angry at the end of the 3-2 loss at Bordeaux last month and criticised match officials and used some fairly nasty words to describe France.

Then the 33-year-old apologised for his outburst and said his remarks "were not aimed at France or the French people". Now he will miss four of the season's last seven league games. Ibrahimovic has scored 17 goals in 22 league appearances for PSG this season. The second-best league goal scorer at the club is Edinson Cavani with 8 goals in 27 appearances.

A disciplinary panel said his punishment reflected "the offensive nature and rudeness of his words". He is also banned for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final match against Barcelona after being sent off against Chelsea in the previous round.

PSG are just one point clear of second-placed Lyon at the top of the table and they are 1/5 Bet365 to win the Ligue 1 title this season.
