Back Euro 2016 Qualifiers: England vs Lithuania preview

Group E leaders England will be looking to make it five wins out of five when they face Lithuania at Wembley on Friday. So far Roy Hodgson's team won every single match of the campaign (against Switzerland, San Marino, Estonia and Slovenia) and built a six-point cushion at the top of the group. There are just three other teams that still have a 100% record in this qualifying campaign: Slovakia, Israel and the Czech Republic.

This will be the first ever meeting between England and Lithuania. Roy Hodgson will not be able to count on Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Fraser Forster and Daniel Sturridge, who are all injured, but that might give young Spurs sensation Harry Kane the chance to make his senior debut for England.

Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph are in doubt but they should be recovered by the time of the game. Lithuania are six points behind England after winning the first two matches without conceding and then losing the following two without scoring (to Slovenia and Switzerland). Their last match produced a decent result though, a goalless draw away at Ukraine in a friendly.

Probable line-ups:

England: Hart - Clyne, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines - Henderson, Carrick, Milner, Sterling - Rooney, Kane

Lithuania: Arlauskis - Vicius, Freidgeimas, Kijanskas, Zulpa - Vaitkunas, Matulevicius, Panka, Chvedukas, Cernych - Andriuskevicius

My prediction: England to win 2-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

England win - 1/8 Draw - 9/1 Lithuania win - 25/1
