Hull City and Sunderland meet on Tuesday evening in what could be a crucial match in their struggle for survival in the top flight. Both teams are just a few points clear of the relegation zone and both will have important relegation clashes next weekend as Hull visit Leicester and Sunderland host Aston Villa. The Black Cats are three points clear of the danger area while the Tigers are four points above the drop zone.
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet will have Wes Brown available after lodging a successful appeal against the red card that he received in Saturday's 2-0 loss to Manchester United. It was a case of mistaken identity as it was John O'Shea who committed the foul on Radamel Falcao. Last weekend Hull saw their three-game unbeaten run come to an end as they were defeated 1-0 at Stoke City.
New signing Dame N'Doye was rested at the weekend after scoring two goals in as many games, so he should feature on Tuesday alongside Nikica Jelavic in attack. Hull have Robbie Brady, James Chester, Robert Snodgrass, Liam Rosenior and Mohamed Diame sidelined by injuries. Gus Poyet will most likely choose an unchanged starting eleven, despite going five matches without a win. Emmanuele Giaccherini, Ricky Alvarez and Will Buckley remain injured for the Black Cats.
Probable line-ups:
Hull: McGregor - McShane, Bruce, Dawson - Elmohamady, Livermore, Huddlestone, Meyler, Robertson - Jelavic, N'Doye
Sunderland: Pantilimon - Reveillere, Brown, O'Shea, Van Aanholt - Cattermole; Johnson, Larsson, Gomez - Wickham, Defoe
My prediction: Hull to win 2-1.
Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:
Hull win - 23/20 Draw - 23/10 Sunderland win - 29/10

Well this one was a suprise , Hull was playing well at home in the last games and i honestly expected to win this one , match started good for them , but then Sunderland made this one a real hard match , they had 8 yellow cards for the match . Rodwell bring them a point by his goal in 77th minute of the match after a cross...

Rodwell bring them a point by his goal in 77th minute of the match after a cross and after that no bigger chances .. Like Vlado said a typical Premier league match .

I think they are currently 5 or 6 teams which will fight till the end against relegation and those two are not an exception. In the earlier part of the season it looked like Hull are almost sure for relegation but now they are on 15 place and the things looks more optimistic for them. I'm not sure how this game will end...

This match will be tough for both sides and I believe that no one wants to lose tonight. Both, Hull City and Sunderland are in the bottom of the table and they will be fight until the end of season to stay in Premier League for the next season too. In last five matches, Hull City have two wins, one draw and two loses. On the other side Sunderland in their last five matches won once, they played two times a draw and they lost also two times. I think that the most realistic prediction for this match should be draw, but I'll give a little advantage to Hull City, because they are playing at home and also because in the first match between these two teams this season Hull City won at "Stadium of Light".

Both teams need every point they can get. They are only 4 and 5 points away from relegation zone. So win should be primarty target for both Hull City and Sunderland. Home team has slighty advantage, mostly becouse their offence is much stronger then Sunderland's "old man" defence. Seriously, Brown and O'Shea are playing...

Home team has slighty advantage, mostly becouse their offence is much stronger then Sunderland's "old man" defence. Seriously, Brown and O'Shea are playing insanly bad, feels like they are together on the field for the first time. Eventho they have been almost a decade (4-5 years together) under leadership of Alex Ferguson. My prediction: 2:1 for home team, with them leading two times and finally winning a game.

In this match stake is pretty much high.Winner will escape further from relegation zone and escape to loser of this match, who will be in trouble.I really think that both managers would be satisfied with a draw in this match.Probably, both teams will start with defensive approach, with only one thing in their minds. That thing...

I agree with Vlado that this is going to be a tough one , but my favourite is definitely Hull city . Last two games home they won against Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers , and those teams are similar to Sunderland . I think Hull with this win could take some breath from the relegation zone and they will play with their max to get this one in front of their own fans .

This is going to be really tough match. In my opinion these two teams are pretty much equal.Sunderland players must be aware of N'Doye. He is very dangerous striker. My prediction was this match is a draw.I would even try goalles draw or result at the end 1-1.This is just my opinion.
