Indian police in Punjab have gone full force against illegal gambling with the arrest of 15 bookmakers and says it will continue to hunt down unlawful bookmakers and gamblers.

The raid resulted in the confiscation of laptops, telephones and registers.

Similarly, Bangalore's Central Crime Branch arrested Muneer Pasha and Sadiq Pasha for accepting wagers on the cricket match between India and South Africa.

Abhishek Goel, deputy commissioner of Police, said that the men they apprehended were involved in an inter-State gambling ring having collected bets for a Rajasthan-based bookmaker, known as Rajesh.
