Back Premier League: Stoke City vs Manchester City preview

Manchester City will be eager to bounce back after last weekend's shock when they travel to meet Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday. The Citizens needed a stoppage time goal from James Milner to rescue a point against Hull City last weekend and the 1-1 result left them seven points behind leaders Chelsea at the top of the table.

Manuel Pellegrini will still miss Yaya Toure and new signing Wilfried Bony, who have recently returned from the Africa Cup of Nations. Stoke City are in good shape, enjoying a four-match unbeaten streak after recording a 1-1 draw at Newcastle last weekend thanks to a last-minute goal from Peter Crouch.

Stoke city will be without captain Ryan Shawcross, who is expected to be out for another week with a back problem. Stoke can move up into the top half of the Premier League table if they manage to beat reigning champions Manchester City.

Probable line-ups:

Stoke: Begovic - Bardsley, Muniesa, Wollscheid, Wilson - Whelan, Nzonzi - Walters, Ireland - Crouch, Diouf

City: Hart - Clichy, Demichelis, Kompany, Zabaleta - Fernando, Fernandinho, Silva, Nasri - Dzeko, Aguero

My prediction: Manchester City to win 1-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Stoke City win - 19/4 Draw - 14/5 Manchester City win - 7/10
