Real Madrid have secured an agreement to sign 16-year-old Norwegian forward Martin Odegaard from Stromsgodset. The club have not revealed the financial details of the deal but Spanish media reported that Real Madrid paid around 3 million euro.
Odegaard is probably the most exciting young prospect in European football after he made his debut for the Norwegian senior national team as a 15-year-old in August. He has been linked with many of Europe's top clubs.
He will probably kick off his career in Spain at the Real Madrid B team under the guidance of former legend Zinedine Zidane before stepping up into the first team. Last year Odegaard became the youngest player to appear and score in the Norwegian Premier League. He bagged five goals and delivered seven assists in 23 appearances for Stromgodset. Many specialists have compared the Norwegian wonderkid to Barcelona's Lionel Messi while Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti described him as "a kid with talent and personality".
In the video below you can see a showcase of Odegaard's skills.

I believe that is too early for him in Madrid, but who am I to speak about it. Players are just merchandize right now, and they become that very very soon. One of the best examples are Odeegard and Neymar. I think that for Odeegard were the best solution to play in his homeland, for some more time, the to move in some team...

I don't know what is happening with the world. That 16 years old boy have 100 000 per a week?! and maybe he will be an average player, maybe he never be like they expect. I think that is too much gambling for Real Madrid, but I think that this kind of money are nothing for club like Real. They have a lot profit every year...

But I can't wait to see what that kid can do.

This is best youth player I ever seen. With only 16 years he plays proffesional football in Stromgotsted and also play for his National team, and not for youth national team but for first team. This is great player for Real. In Madrid he will have all that he need to became a superstar and maybe be better than Ronaldo or Messi why not. I think that this is great deal for Real also because now they have the best youth player on the world and for Real this salary is nothing so this is great move by Real Madrid.

I hope that people from Real Madrid know what are they doing. I didn't watched this kid but for me this is too much... I wish this man to grow in great great player but for Real Madrid this is risky. He have potential but you never know how he will train or maybe he will be injured or something. So this is maybe the best...

Yes sharpe, I agree with you that It's definitely worth of risk. But I saw information that this young boy will get 80.000£ per week, this is very big salary. So I will make some comparison: Paul Pogba (the best young player) in Juventus get 23.000£ per week. I think that we can agree that Pogba is worth more than this...

All I want to say that money are destroying football lately, and I think that this will continue to be case in the future.

The boy for shore has potential and Real Madrid making a smart move buying him now when he is still relatively unknown and will cost them a much less. Of course there's always a chance this young talent not to become a great footballer like they hope but this is a gamble that definitely worth the risk.

I'm not sure what to think about this Real M. signing. I didn't had many opportunities to watch him playing, but in that few games I saw big potential in him. I think that Odegaard can learn many things from Zidane, and we'll see how he will grow as player. Anyway I wish him luck in his career.
