Crown Resorts Partners with BetEasy to Compete in Australian Market
James Packer, owner of Crown Resorts land based gambling group in Australia, spoke of the recent partnership with Matthew Tripps' online sports betting company BetEasy saying that the collaboration will compete against online sports operations that have entered into the Aussie market. "This exciting new venture will help build an Australian-owned business that can compete strongly with the largely foreign-owned competitors in our wagering industry," Packer said. Crown owns the majority of the new project joint venture which will be a mix of BetEasy's online sportsbook and Betfair's Australasia. Tripp will oversee the operations of thejoint ventures since his prior experience includes the sale of the Sportsbet business to Paddy Power two years ago. He has also done something similar with BetEasy. After the purchase of BetEzy this year, Tripp made changes that draw in over 110,000 players these days not to mention the recent deal with the AFL.
