Back UEFA Europa League: Wolfsburg vs Everton preview

Everton can secure their place in the last 32 of the Europa League on Thursday if they claim a win at Group H rivals Wolfsburg. The Toffees are top of the group, one point clear of Wolfsburg, after two wins and two draws in their first four matches. Moreover, the English side are on a good run of form both in the Premier League and in Europe, unbeaten in their last six games.

Wolfsburg can also go through to the knockout stage with a match to spare if they manage to win on Thursday. The Germans have secured five wins out of their last six games in all competitions and will be looking for revenge after the 4-1 defeat at Goodison Park a couple of months ago.

Everton are still without Leighton Baines and Gareth Barry, while Steven Naismith and Darron Gibson could also miss out. Ricardo Rodriguez, Josuha Guilavogui and Vieirinha are in doubt for the home side.

Probable line-ups:

Wolfsburg: Benaglio - Trasch, Naldo, Knoche, Schafer - Luiz Gustavo, Malanda Adje - Hunt, De Bruyne, Perisic - Dost

Everton: Howard - Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Coleman - McCarthy, Osman - Mirallas, Besic, Barkley - Lukaku

My prediction: Everton to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Wolfsburg win - 17/20 Draw - 14/5 Everton win - 7/2
