Back Primera Liga: Real Madrid's Luka Modric ruled out for three months

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric will be out for around three months after he suffered a thigh injury while playing for his national side, Croatia. The 29-year-old playmaker had to pull out during the first half of the Euro 2016 qualifying match against Italy.

Real Madrid revealed the former Tottenham player had torn a tendon in his thigh but avoided to disclose how long he would be out for. The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) stated that most likely he will be out of action until after the New Year.

"The Croatian national team and Real Madrid midfielder will be away from the football pitch for about three months after the injury sustained in the encounter between Italy and Croatia," a Croatian Football Federation statement read. Modric has been a key player this season for Real Madrid, who are leading the Primera Liga table and have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League with four wins out of four games.

Real Madrid are 4/9 at Bet365 to win the Primera Liga title this season.
