Police raided several illegal betting shops in Palermo, Sicily after receiving tips that illegal online sports betting operations via Malta based websites were being run from the locations.
Among those arrested were two men and police seized 11 computer sets in addition to miscellaneous evidence.
According to police, the shops did not have the proper licensing to accept wagers for foreign bookmakers without permission to operate in Italy.
