Back Premier League: Manchester City's Edin Dzeko suffers "serious injury"

Manchester City Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko will most likely spend at least a few weeks on the sidelines with a "very serious calf injury". Bosnia-Herzegovina team doctor Reuf Karabeg said Dzeko, aged 28, would miss Sunday's Euro 2016 qualifier in Israel. The injury forced Dzeko off the pitch just four minutes after he had replaced Fernandinho during Saturday's 2-2 draw at QPR .

"It's a very serious injury and requires the kind of treatment whose time-frame rules out a quick return," Karabeg said. Edin Dzeko has scored four goals in 17 appearances for Manchester City this season but hasn't found the net lately, his last goal was nine games ago.

Manchester City face a busy schedule in the coming weeks, with no less than six games between November 22nd and December 10th. First they will face Swansea at home in the Premier League, then Bayern Munich in the Champions League before back to back away games at Southampton and Sunderland. The Citizens will welcome Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday before the final Champions League group stage match at AS Roma.

Manchester City are 11/2 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title this season.
