Back UEFA Champions League: Real Madrid vs Liverpool preview

Liverpool travel to the Spanish capital to face Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, with the memory of the 3-0 defeat at Anfield still fresh in their memory. This time the Reds need to avoid defeat following two consecutive losses in Group B.

Daniel Sturridge is still out of contention, so Brendan Rodgers should decide between fielding Mario Balotelli or Rickie Lambert upfront. Adam Lallana could feature in midfield while Jose Enrique could make his return at left back. Liverpool are coming after yet another setback in the Premier League, a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle last weekend.

Real Madrid are in brilliant form, leading the Champions League group and the Primera Liga table. They defeated Granada 4-0 last weekend and will most likely be looking to delight their fans with a few goals against the Reds as well. Gareth Bale could make his return for Real while Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to lead the attacking line alongside Karim Benzema after both scored against Granada.

Probable starting line-ups:

Real: Casillas - Carvjal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo - Modric, Kroos - Rodriguez, Bale, Ronaldo - Benzema

Liverpool: Mignolet - Johnson, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno - Gerrard, Lallana - Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling - Balotelli

My prediction: Real Madrid to win 3-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Real Madrid win - 2/9 Draw - 13/2 Liverpool win - 12/1
