Back Bundesliga: Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund preview

The biggest clash in German football is coming up on Saturday evening as reigning champions Bayern Munich play host to Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. However, this time Borussia Dortmund are not in a familiar place in the Bundesliga table, they are all the way down in 16th position before the derby after a run of six league games without a win. Bayern currently hold a 14-point advantage on Dortmund, so this match will be crucial for the visitors' title hopes.

Bayern are unbeaten in the league this season and have also provided some convincing displays in the Champions League. They have not lost in any competition since August, when Dortmund defeated them in the German Super Cup.

Dortmund will be without Erik Durm, Nuri Sahin and Jakub Błaszczykowski, all injured, while Shinji Kagawa could return to the starting eleven at the expense of Adrian Ramos. Arjen Robben is in doubt for the home side while Bastian Schweinsteiger, Holger Badstuber, Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara will surely miss out. Dortmund and Bayern have each won three of the last six meetings between the two sides.

Probable starting line-ups:

Bayern: Neuer - Benatia, Boateng, Alaba - Rafinha, Lahm, Alonso, Bernat - Muller, Gotze - Lewandowski

Dortmund: Weidenfeller - Piszczek, Subotic, Hummels, Sokratis - Bender, Gundogan - Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Reus - Aubamayeng

My prediction: Bayern to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Bayern win - 4/9 Draw - 7/2 Dortmund win - 11/2
