William Hill Ready to Launch Sports in New Jersey
William Hill is ready to launch its sports betting operation in the US pending the resolution of the current litigation involving New Jersey and the national sports leagues says the manager for American operations, Joe Asher. He told the press that William Hill Sports and Race Bar at the Monmouth Park race track is "built out and ready to go". "I believe the New Jersey market once fully up and going would be at least three times the Nevada market," Asher said. "This is an area with some of the most storied franchises in American sports where billions of dollars are already bet on sports illegally." Sports betting is legal in four states as outlined by the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA); however NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that he was not opposed to the idea of sports betting in America.
