Industry Awaits Implementation of Singapore's Remote Gambling Act
Now that Singapore's Remote Gambling Act has received the approval from lawmakers, the industry waits for the implementation of restrictions on mobile and online gambling. All remote gambling operators will be required to obtain licensing in order to provide gaming services to punters in Singapore. The government will need to approve every aspect of remote gaming activity including operators, agents, brokers, service providers, advertising networks, payment processors, financial institutions, ISPs and players.. The new law will make Singapore virtually untouchable to foreign operators with enforcement planned via financial transaction restrictions, blacklisting and potential ISP blocks.
