Back International Friendly: France vs Portugal preview

France and Portugal will face each other for the first time since 2006 in an international friendly at the Stade de France in Paris on Saturday. Portugal will have superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad but Euro 2016 hosts France will be the match favourites on home soil. Moreover, France have won all last five matches against Portugal, a side that is still suffering after the shock 1-0 home defeat to Albania in their opening Euro 2016 qualifying match.

Fernando Santos's side will take on Denmark in their upcoming qualifier next Tuesday. France clinched a draw with Serbia last time out before a high-profile win over Spain. Yohan Cabaye is not a first team regular at Paris Saint-Germain, but he should start in midfield for Didier Deschamps' side. For Portugal Ronaldo could team up with Eder and Nani in attack.

Probable starting line-ups:

France: Lloris - Sagna, Varane, Mathieu, Digne - Sissoko, Pogba, Cabaye, Schneiderlin, Cabella - Benzema

Portugal: Rui Patricio - Pereira, Pepe, Costa, Coentrao - Moutinho, Carvalho, Gomes - Ronaldo, Eder, Nani

My prediction: France to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

France win - 5/6 Draw - 5/2 Portugal win - 16/5
