Back UEFA Champions League: Atletico Madrid vs Juventus preview

Spanish champions Atletico Madrid suffered a shock defeat two weeks ago, 3-2 at Olympiakos, and that result makes the match against Juventus on Wednesday nearly decisive. Atletico have to avoid defeat in this match if they want to keep their qualification hopes alive. Atletico have done well on the domestic front though, winning two and drawing one in the Primera Liga.

Coach Diego Simeone won't have any injury concerns this time, Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic has made his return to action last weekend. New signing Antoine Griezmann could feature in the starting eleven after being used mostly as a substitute so far this season.

Juventus will have Roberto Pereyra available again after having served a suspension and he could replace Arturo Vidal who is struggling with knee problems. Andrea Pirlo, Martin Caceres and Andrea Barzagli will all miss out due to injuries. Juventus have won just three times on Spanish soil out of twenty matches. Their last win was at the Bernabeu, 2-0 against Atletico's rivals Real Madrid.

Probable starting line-ups:

Atletico: Moya - Juanfran, Miranda, Godin, Siqueira - Gabi, Koke, Garcia - Griezmann, Turan - Mandzukic

Juventus: Buffon - Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Chiellini, Ogbonna, Evra - Pereyra, Marchisio, Pogba - Tevez, Llorente

My prediction: 1-1 draw.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Atletico win - 6/5 Draw - 23/10 Juventus win - 11/4
